A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
I went to Kayak — the travel booking website — the other night to check on an airline ticket price, and hit a banner.
It stated that ‘we stand with the Black community against racism, violence, and injustice.’
Well, one can swallow this — or let them know it’ll cost them just a little bit. So I found feedback, and sent the following:
‘Over the last ten years or so, I have habitually used your site to book airline flights. However, I note that you now have a banner stating that ‘you stand with the Black community against racism, violence, and injustice’ — i.e., you support ‘Black Lives Matter.’ Since the practical effect of all this nonsense is actually to PROMOTE ‘racism, violence, and injustice’ — generally with my race as the target — I will no longer make use of your services. Happily, there are alternatives. I don’t see any reason why I would ever come back.’
Unless you want to go quietly into that long good night of racial submission, I’d urge you to bestir yourselves to do the same or similar. Then urge others to do so as well.
